Polar Parrot

The Polar Blue Parrot Cichlid, also known as the Polar Parrot Fish, is a man-made hybrid freshwater aquarium fish. It is admired for its bright metallic blue color, rounded body shape, and feisty, territorial personality.

  Shimmering electric blue scales with dark vertical zebra-like stripes and a short, compact body.

• Size:
  Grows to about 3 to 4 inches (7 to 10 cm) long, significantly smaller than standard blood parrot cichlids.

• Lifespan:
  Lives for approximately 5 to 8 years with proper care.

Tank Care and Requirements

• Tank Size:
  A minimum of 20 to 30 gallons is recommended for a pair.

• Water Conditions:
  Thrives in a temperature range of 72°F to 80°F (22°C to 27°C) and a pH level between 6.5 and 8.0.

• Environment:
  Requires plenty of rocks, caves, and hiding spots to feel secure and manage territorial behavior.

Temperament and Tank Mates

• Behavior:
  These fish are highly active and curious with owners but display semi-aggressive and fiercely territorial behavior once they form pairs.

• Compatibility:

  • Avoid housing with tiny, peaceful fish like small tetras or guppies, as they may view them as food.
  • Best kept with similar-sized semi-aggressive fish, such as larger cichlids or gouramis.
