The Oranda is a highly popular fancy goldfish recognized by its signature "wen"—a fleshy, raspberry-like growth on its head. Featuring a round, egg-shaped body, a prominent dorsal fin, and a flowing, fan-like tail, they come in stunning color variations like the famous Red Cap, calico, and black.

Aquarium Setup

• Requires a spacious tank of at least 100 liters (26 gallons) for a single adult.
• Avoid sharp decorations that could snag their delicate fins or scratch their sensitive head growth.

Water Parameters

• Preferred temperature: 18°C–24°C (64–75°F).
• Ideal pH: 6.5–7.5.
• Strong but gentle filtration is necessary due to their high waste production and clumsy swimming.

Diet

• Prone to swim bladder issues; sinking pellets or gel foods are recommended over floating flakes to prevent them from gulping too much air.
