Microsorum pteropus ‘Windelov’ (Windelov Java Fern) is a hardy, slow-growing freshwater aquarium epiphyte distinguished by its finely branched, lace-like leaf tips. Developed by Tropica Aquarium Plants and named after founder Holger Windeløv, it reaches 15–20 cm tall and thrives in low-to-moderate-light setups without requiring CO₂ injection.

Care & Maintenance Requirements

• Placement: Must be attached to driftwood, lava rock, or other hardscape using thread, fishing line, or superglue (cyanoacrylate).
• The Rhizome Rule: Never bury the horizontal rhizome beneath sand or gravel substrate, as covering it will cause the tissue to suffocate and rot.
• Lighting: Low to moderate light is ideal; excessive light can trigger algae growth on the slow-moving leaves.
• Water Parameters: Tolerates temperatures from 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) and a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5.
