Lilaeopsis brasiliensis (Brazilian micro sword) is a popular, grass-like foreground aquarium plant from South America, used to create a vibrant green lawn. It grows 4 to 7 cm tall, spreads via runners, and features flat, narrow leaves.

Key Requirements

Lighting:
Moderate to high lighting is required to achieve a dense, compact carpeting effect.

Substrate:
Thrives best in a nutrient-rich aqua soil or fertilized substrate.

CO2 and Fertilization:
CO2 injection and regular liquid fertilizers (including iron) accelerate growth, though it can grow slowly without added CO2.
