L168 Butterfly Pleco (Dekeyseria picta or brachyura) is a striking, medium-sized freshwater catfish native to Brazil's Rio Negro. It features bold black-and-yellow or white stripes, a maximum size of 5.5 inches, and the ability to shift color tones based on its environment.

Care and Habitat

• Tank Size: Minimum 30 to 50 gallons (approx. 100–150 liters) with strong, well-oxygenated water flow.
• Water Parameters: Temperature 75–82°F (24–28°C), pH 6.0–7.5, in soft to moderately hard water.
• Decor: Requires driftwood, smooth rocks, and flat caves for daytime hiding.

Diet and Behavior

• Diet: Primarily herbivorous/algivorous; feeds on algae, biofilm, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables like zucchini or cucumber, with occasional protein treats.
