Killifish - Norman's Lampeye

The Norman’s Lampeye Killifish (Poropanchax normani) is a tiny, peaceful shoaling fish native to West and Central Africa. Known for its brilliant, iridescent blue eyes and translucent body, it thrives in heavily planted nano tanks alongside other small, non-aggressive species.

• pH: 5.5–7.5 (prefer slightly acidic)

Tank Setup

• Requires dense stem plants and floating cover (like duckweed) to help them feel secure and diffuse lighting.

Diet

• Carnivorous/Omnivorous: Feed a varied diet of high-quality micro-pellets, crushed flakes, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and daphnia.

Compatibility

• Excellent for community tanks with small, peaceful fish and freshwater shrimp.
• Avoid larger or aggressive tank mates that can outcompete them for food.
