Hygrophila polysperma 'Tiger' (commonly known as Tiger Hygro) is a fast-growing, easy-to-care-for freshwater stem plant native to Asia. Its narrow, pointed green leaves are adorned with striking marbled or tiger-striped patterns that can develop pinkish or reddish hues under intense light.
Care Requirements

Lighting:
Low to moderate light is sufficient, but high lighting enhances its unique stripe patterns and reddish tones. -
Temperature:
20°C to 29°C (72°F to 84°F). -
Water pH:
5.0 to 8.0. -
CO2 and Nutrients:
CO2 injection is not required, making it ideal for low-tech setups. However, using liquid fertilizers and adding CO2 can accelerate its growth.
Placement and Maintenance

Best suited for the mid-ground or background where it can form a thick, vibrant bush. -
Growth and Propagation:
Grows rapidly (several centimeters a week), acting as an efficient nutrient sponge that helps control algae. Propagation is simple—just cut the stem tops or lateral shoots and replant them into the substrate.
