The Gold Spot Pleco (Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus), also known by its L-numbers L001 and L022, is a large, armored freshwater catfish native to Brazil's Tocantins and Amazon River basins. Its striking appearance includes a dark brown to black body adorned with bright gold spots, a high sailfin dorsal fin, and a downward sucker mouth.
