Gold Laser Cory

The Gold Laser Corydoras (Corydoras sp. CW010) is a highly sought-after freshwater catfish native to Peru. Renowned for its metallic green or bronze body accented by a striking, neon-gold stripe down its spine, this peaceful schooling fish is perfect for planted and community tanks. They grow to about 5 cm (2 inches) and live 5–10 years.

Care & Requirements

Tank Size:

• Minimum 75 liters (20 gallons) to comfortably house a school.

School Size:

• Must be kept in groups of at least 6 to 10 to prevent stress and encourage natural, inquisitive behavior.

Substrate:

• Fine, smooth sand or soft gravel is essential, as coarse substrates can damage their delicate barbels during foraging.

Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 22°C to 26°C (72°F to 79°F).
• pH Level: 6.0 to 7.5.
• Hardness: 2 to 12 dGH.

Diet:

• Omnivorous bottom-feeders that thrive on sinking catfish pellets, micropellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms.

Tank Mates:

• Peaceful nano fish, dwarf cichlids, and non-aggressive community fish.
