Physical Characteristics

• Origin: Found in South America, specifically in the Amazon basin across Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia.
• Water Temperature: Thrives in water temperatures between 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F).
• Water pH: Prefers a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5.
• Tank Setup: Best suited for a well-oxygenated, heavily planted tank with ample open swimming space.

Behavior and Diet

• Social: A very peaceful and active schooling fish. To reduce stress, it must be kept in groups of at least 6 to 8 individuals.
• Diet: Omnivorous; enjoys high-quality flakes, micro-pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia.
