Flying Fox

The Flying Fox (Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus) is a popular Southeast Asian freshwater fish known for its sleek body, bold black horizontal stripe, and algae-eating habits.

Physical Traits & Habitat

• Appearance: Features a golden-brown body with a striking dark stripe from nose to tail, complemented by clear fins edged in white and orange.
• Size: Grows up to 15–16 cm (6 inches) in length.
• Origin: Native to fast-flowing forest streams and rivers in Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and Java.
• Lifespan: Lives for 8 to 10 years with proper care.

  Requires a minimum tank size of 250 liters (about 65–100 gallons) with:

• Behavior:
