Behavior & Habitat

• Social: Peaceful, timid shoaling fish that need groups of 10 or more to feel secure.
• Environment: Prefers heavily planted tanks with dark substrates, driftwood, and soft, acidic blackwater (tannin-rich) to enhance their colors.
• Activity: Subdued and low-activity, making them great for community tanks.

Care Tips

• Tank: Mature, planted tanks with gentle filtration and hiding spots.
• Water: Ideal in soft water (2-12 dGH) with a pH of 6.0-7.5 and temperatures around 22-26°C (72-80°F).
• Diet: Omnivores that need small foods like flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, or micro-worms.
