API Phos-Zorb eliminates cloudy water and dirt caused by phosphates and silicates. Phosphate is released by fish waste, decaying organic matter and tap water sources. Silicates are a natural mineral found in tap water. Both phosphate and silicates are common nutrients found in fresh and saltwater aquariums that contribute to water murkiness. This product also removes compounds that inhibit aquatic plant growth, reducing the overall maintenance required for your aquarium.
The product is a special filtration material conveniently presented in pouch that is placed in the path of water flowin the aquarium filter. The product selectively removes the above by-products, but does not remove trace elements, and will not affect pH. The pouch should ideally be replaced every 2 months or when testing indicates the presence of phosphate or silicate in the water.
